FAQ

Common questions

Who do you act for?+

Developers, investors, private clients and project owners on the client side, and contractors, subcontractors and consultancies on the delivery side. On any one project I'm clear about whose interests I represent.

Do you still provide traditional quantity surveying?+

Yes. Quantity surveying and commercial management remain core to the practice, for contractors, subcontractors and consultancies, on a retained, fractional or project-specific basis.

How are appointments structured?+

Engagements can be a fixed project fee, a stage-based appointment, a retained advisory arrangement, fractional commercial support or a project-specific consultancy. The right structure depends on the scope and responsibility involved.

How is pricing set?+

Pricing follows the scope of the appointment. After a first conversation I'll send a clear proposal.

Do you work outside the UK?+

Yes. I support projects across the UK and selected international markets, bringing in local specialist input where a project needs it.

Is development and acquisition advisory investment advice?+

No. It's independent commercial and cost analysis of the construction side of an opportunity. It isn't regulated investment or financial advice.

Can you help with growth or business development?+

Where it's relevant, yes. Construction businesses and consultancies can also talk to me about business development, partnership or succession. See the growth pages linked from Quantity Surveying & Commercial Support.

Is AI a separate service?+

No. It's applied only where it creates real efficiency within commercial work. Construction knowledge first, technology where useful.
